WHY “UNICORN”?

It all began in 1956 with an idea inspired by a rotor craft genius.The picture shows my first gyro copter with a single blade rotor.  See the connection?                                                                                                   

It took me until the mid ‘80s to pick up the idea again.The result is the gyro copter “UNICORN”. It currently has a 2 blade rotor as most smaller gyros flying today do. However, I have not yet given up on the single blade rotor.

The ducted fan presented here is the one used on the gyrocopter. The result of my work with it seems to tell something about errors made in the past, which lead to poor performance and a bad reputation for the ducted fan.

This is an AVID kit I bought used. It is my air transportation. I named the airplane “PRAGMA”  because I did not want to use it for experimenting(Ha HaHa).

My involvement in Wankel engine issues is, at this time, limited to driving a 1983 RX7. However, I am keeping up with what is going on in the home builders’ community. I have developed an interesting gadget, which may improve engine usage in the car and other applications.
